Welcome back to the Rhonda Swan show. Wake up New York City. We are here, back at Wall Street, and today we have a very, very special guest. In fact, this man is going to completely transform the way you think about what is possible in the moment. His name is Patrick Mitchell. He's a 20 year Air Force veteran, Best Selling Author and the founder of this is my moment. He is a movement creator. He not only empowers people to transform adversity into strength and lead with confidence, purpose and heart. Let's get to it and meet Patrick. Well, Patrick, welcome to the show. It's so awesome to have you in New York City. Man, this is banana. Is this your first time? First time, and I am enjoying myself thoroughly. Thank you for having me out. I love it. I'm so glad that you're here, and I I really love what you do. You know I do because I know you've had, you've worn the uniforms, right? You've been a veteran, you've coached champions, and now you're leading a movement. But what was the moment that made you say, This is it? This is my moment right now

Patrick Mitchell 1:13

for me, it started off. I was 11 years old. My mom, she was a single parent. Me, my brother, my sister, and we stayed in a rough part of Houston, Texas, and my mom, she saved up her money to move us out. So what she did she went and got a townhouse, which was right across the street, but it had a security fence, so we had to pack all our stuff a mile around, but we didn't have a car Rhonda, so she had a Safeway shopping cart. Okay, we packed our stuff in it, and we passed co workers and neighbors and friends and students, and they all laugh. No one helped us. And it was at that moment, I realized that just because people look a certain way doesn't mean that that's their situation. So I wanted to make sure that when I was able to I was able to help people clap for people, cheer for people, even if they're taking one step, because at the end of the day, Rhonda that one step to heart, dedication and courage. So that's what we're doing here. And this is my moment.

Rhonda Swan 2:04

I love it. I mean, it's so inspiring. And I know that this my moment is also a book, the best selling book you hit bestseller on Amazon. But what is one story that's in your book that still brings the chills back, it makes you tear up, that kind of brings you back into that moment.

Patrick Mitchell 2:20

Oh, man. So each chapter is a actual person. So all of them mean something, because I had to interview them. But the one that really gets me is the one, it's called not going back, and the reason is because that's my wife's story. So being married 26 years, I know a lot about her for having her open up about growing up in poverty, having to actually get firewood, going to school, smelling like smoke, and just the the ins and outs of not having it, and it shows why she works so hard, why she's so determined, why she not going back, because she's understands how it feels, and she understands that hard work and dedication, and honestly, Rhonda having her open up to Me, and then me being able to show that vulnerability to the world that is, yeah,

Rhonda Swan 3:05

that's, well, I mean, yeah, being able to interview your spouse, right? Like, I've been with my husband for 27 years. You know, it's like, but when we learn they're like, those intimate moments about them, and being able to put that in a book, oh, man, you know, it's like, it could not only creates more connection, but it allows others to really see not only the values you hold as well in your family. I was talking with you and your wife last night about your kids and everything that you guys are about, and it's like, these are, this is what it's made for. These are the moments that were made for. And I just love it. It's so inspiring. But there are, there's a lot of books on resilience. There's a lot of models out there, right programs like that talk about movements, but this is, this is my moment. Is a completely different movement. Right? Share with it. What makes that different? Website makes it stand out, because there's a lot of people that are looking for hope, for looking for guidance.

Patrick Mitchell 3:57

So first off, what makes us different is we created strategically to be a multi level platform, so where you can have this in my moment, the words, the positive affirmation that you can take with you. Because sometimes you don't need a motivational speaker. Sometimes I'm in my moment to where I just need that bit of confidence, that little superpower, that curve with that affirmation. And then you have Patrick Mitchell, and I'm going to come in and I'm going to talk to you about resilience. About resiliency. I'm going to talk to you about motivation. I'm a rally the truth, like we used to call it. And for me, I do it from a realistic standpoint. My military background, traveling the world, coaching, I have a different view than a lot of other people that do it. And I talk community resiliency. I talk about the weights of resiliency, and then I also just talk about how it is, just being realistic. Just bring it to your front door, meeting people where they're at with it.

Rhonda Swan 4:52

Yeah, yeah. I mean, and that's when you're when you're creating a movement like that, and you're giving people space to actually be seen. Oh. Right? Like, I think that makes such a huge difference. And, like, for different like, let's say there's different partners or those that might be listening. And what type of legacy, kind of driven collaborations are you inviting people into, to be part of this movement with you? What I

Patrick Mitchell 5:15

want people to understand is this, I'm not inviting you into sponsorship. I'm inviting you to legacy. Yeah, right. So we're looking for individuals that understand that we're trying to change it through communication, through storytelling, through coaching, and you're not just getting an awesome tagline, right with this my moment. You're not just getting a best selling book, you're not getting a dynamic speaker. You're investing in resiliency, you're investing in the classrooms, in the board rooms, in the locker rooms, in the living room, running even the battlefield, yeah? Like, this is

Speaker 2 5:46

my moment. It just hits different Yeah. And what I like

Patrick Mitchell 5:51

is to see and engage and collaborate with people that believe in resiliency, right? And if they're looking for building and being a part of something that has the ability to change cultures, to move the market and potentially become a global icon that I'm ready to build. All right. All

Speaker 3 6:09

right. I love that. And what type of people are joining the movement

Patrick Mitchell 6:14

Rhonda everything. I have CEOs, I have guys that's going through physical therapy. I have janitors, I have millionaires. Like it's, it's infinite, and that's what makes it great, is wherever you are in life, you've always had that point where you say, You know what, this is, my moment. I can do it. I got this. And that's that superpower that comes with having that positive affirmation. Rhonda, I love it crazy, but it's amazing.

Rhonda Swan 6:39

It is, it is attractive, right? That type of energy is so attractive to people. So what if someone right now was listening and they're a little bit stuck, maybe they're in some doubt or some fear? What's that message that you might have for them

Patrick Mitchell 6:49

right now? Hmm, let me give you something right off top of the head. Rhonda, oh, you're gonna love this. If you're living in fear and doubt. This is what I want you to remember. You are not built to break. You were built to rise, fear, doubt, that's all smoke and mirrors. But you you had a fire. Yeah, this is your moment, not tomorrow, not next week, right now. You don't need anyone's permission, Rhonda, to be amazing. You are enough, and at the end of the day, I want you to remember this is my moment. Yes, I love it. Rhonda,

Rhonda Swan 7:32

thank you so much for all that you do. Where can they actually find you as well? Was the website, the social media, yeah.

Patrick Mitchell 7:38

So we have a couple different platforms. The website, this is my moment. Calm. Instagram, this is my moment. Underscore, T, I m, m, you got us on Facebook. This is my moment, man, just reach out. I'm the type of person running I'm from the south, so I'm gonna talk to you personally. So if you reach out you want to get me, you're not going to get a you're not gonna get a secretary. I'm gonna talk to you, and we're gonna see what we can do.

Rhonda Swan 8:03

I love it. Well, I can't wait for it, because this is my moment too. Well, there you have it. Patrick Mitchell, here from this is my moment, showing people what is possible. Breaking through.
