In 2009, Ebony launched Swank a Posh, a clothing boutique that would revolutionize the fast-fashion industry with its high-quality products. The idea of selling products that women were guaranteed to love and use time and again fueled the perfect business model. The initial Swank store would open in August of 2009 at the Twelve Oaks Mall’s Nordstrom Wing in Novi, Michigan.
Ultimately, the first store closed shortly after opening. Ebony was determined more than ever to learn from her past mistakes and calculate her next move carefully. With a strategic rebrand, Swank would soon secure a new store in Southfield, Michigan, one year later while growing her customer base.
Soon Swank a Posh would become the go-to store in Detroit for events. From concerts to parties, to homecoming dances, to birthdays, Swank was more than just a fashion brand. Swank a Posh opened another location in Detroit, Michigan, and is now the longest-running boutique in Detroit.
Swank went global with an eCommerce store, further expanding her reach through social media. Specifically Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Swank a Posh has grown tremendously, becoming a multi-million dollar business in such a short time. There’s no limit to where Ebony Swank can take her business. She has positioned herself as a true success story and is an inspiration for up-and-coming entrepreneurs.
